Africa Day is the brainchild of Prince Bazawule, a Ghanaian residing in Barbados. Known for initiatives such as AfroBarbados, Prince is passionate about fostering connections between Africa and its diaspora. Speaking about the event, he shared, “Africa Day is not only about showcasing African culture but highlighting the similarities between Africa and the Caribbean. Afrobeats has brought African culture into the international spotlight, sparking growing interest and awareness within the African Diaspora. This event builds on that momentum by fostering deeper connections. My hope is that Africa Day inspires more Barbadians to explore and embrace our shared ancestry.”
