In a continued effort to foster cultural understanding and connect young minds across continents, THE DIASPORADICAL INITIATIVE is thrilled to announce another exciting cross-cultural experiences set for the month of February.
This year’s engaging sessions will bring together students from Maria Holder Nursery, Barbados on February 25, as well as Bayleys Primary School (Barbados) and True Love School in (Accra, Ghana), on February 27, 2025, for interactive sessions exploring African and Caribbean cultures.
Through a dynamic exchange of storytelling, proverbs, and culinary delights, students will gain firsthand insight into the vibrant traditions of both regions. The highlight of the event will be the sharing of Bajan sayings alongside African stories and proverbs, offering a unique opportunity for mutual learning and cultural appreciation among students and teachers alike.
Renowned Nigerian singer, actress, and storyteller Tosinger will once again bring her artistic magic to the event, captivating the young audience with her rich storytelling and melodic performances. Her presence adds a special touch, reinforcing the power of music and oral traditions in preserving cultural heritage.
No cultural exchange is complete without food! This year, African Food Grab and Go will provide authentic African bites, giving students in Barbados a sensory experience of African flavours while drawing connections between African and Caribbean culinary traditions.
According to Ghanaian-born founder Prince Bazawule , THE DIASPORADICAL INITIATIVE is proud to spearhead this meaningful event, creating a bridge of knowledge and friendship between Barbados and the African continent. “As we celebrate the beauty of diversity and shared heritage and we invite everyone to follow along, as the team will share event highlights on its social media pages”.
Stay tuned for an unforgettable cultural journey!
