In the spirit of fostering cultural understanding and connecting young minds across continents, the dynamic non-profit organization, THE DIASPORADICAL INITIATIVE, is gearing up for an exciting undertaking set to take place on the 9th of February, 2024.

In collaboration with Alpha Valley School in Oyibi, Accra Ghana, the talented Nigerian singer, actress, and storyteller  ⎯ Tosinger and Afroeats ⎯ a Barbados-based African catering outfit, THE DIASPORADICAL INITIATIVE (led by Ghanaian-born founder Prince Bazawule), is orchestrating an engaging session aimed at bringing African culture to life for a group of 40 vibrant Class 2 students, who attend the Bayleys Primary School in Barbados.

Expectations and Excitement

The session promises a delightful blend of cultural exploration and interactive learning. The main objective is to share African culture through the art of storytelling and the richness of proverbs. The lively interaction will not only provide a glimpse into the diverse traditions of Ghana and Nigeria but also highlight the cultural diversity within Africa.

Contributions from Alpha Valley’s  team and Tosinger, a multi-talented Nigerian artist based in the United States, will add a special touch to the event  ⎯  Tosinger’s storytelling expertise and musical prowess and the Alpha Valley’s team unique perspective – are set to captivate the young audience and make this cultural exchange truly memorable.

Moreover, the session will feature sampling African cuisine, courtesy of Afroeats, offering the students a sensory exploration of the continent’s rich culinary heritage and highlighting similarities with Caribbean cuisine.

THE DIASPORADICAL INITIATIVE is thrilled to be spearheading this journey of cultural exchange. It’s a significant opportunity for Barbadian students to learn first-hand about Africa and connect, share, and celebrate diversity.

As we eagerly anticipate this cultural rendezvous, the team will share the event recording, on its Social Pages, which promises to leave a lasting impact on young hearts and minds.

Let’s build bridges through the magic of cultural exchange!
